Finally, the impact of the pandemic and the resultant supply chain problems are in the rear-view mirror for Rondar Raceboats! Paul Young is fully up and running producing Viper 640s in his UK factory. He has a supply of masts (one of the major supply chain snafus) and the new hull and keel molds are turning out exceptional boats.
Right now, Rondar is building three boats for late March/April delivery to North America. Only one of the trio is spoken for so there are TWO brand new Vipers being shipped to Tyler Moore’s Hampton, VA facility in time for spring regattas.
Just envision yourself at the helm of one of the newest Vipers as your competitors in the boat park list over your pristine boat. Then, with renewed confidence you and your crew go out on the racecourse and have the time of your lives. There’s only one “first race” for a boat and there are two of you out there that can experience that joy in just a few months.
If you want to be one of the two lucky Viperers, call Tyler Moore today and tell him you want one of the new boats. He’ll work out all the details with you and then you just sit back and wait for your new Viper to arrive and hit the water.
If you need a bit more time, Rondar plans to continue building Vipers with delivery slots for the fall and next spring. If those timings work better for your schedule, you should still call Tyler today to put your name on one of those slots.

WA VIPERS TRAVEL SOUTH TO GEOGRAPHE BAY RACE WEEK
Six Vipers from Fremantle’s South of Perth Yacht Club drove 225 km south along Western Australia’s southwest coast and joined the 74-yacht fleet for Geographe Bay Race Week in February 2024. The Vipers sailed a 10 race, 3-day mini regatta. Day 1 saw gusty 20+ knot conditions which tested the crews and resulted in a number of wipeouts. The weather returned to pleasant with 5 – 15 knot offshore breezes in warm sunny conditions for the following 2 days of racing. Racing was tight on the windward leeward courses with a number of different individual race winners.
After sailing, drinks at the “Shentika” bar led to presentations at the Geographe Bay Yacht Club and sampling of sponsor drinks from Shelter Brewing and West Winds Gin.
Congratulations to Rod Beurteaux, Jon, and Simon on their win. Results below

ZAK FANBERG AND SONS WIN THE BATTLE BUT JIMMY PRALEY’S TEAM ROBOT FLAMINGO WINS THE WAR!
Zak, Connor, and Anders Fanberg
The February 10-11, third and final stop of the Sarasota Viper Winter Series saw intense competition and impressive performances from the participating teams. Crazyhorse Mongoose, sailed by the Fanberg family team of Zak, Connor, and Anders, emerged as the overall winners. Team Robot Flamingo secured second place and Glory Days rounded out the podium with a strong showing that saw them never finish out of the top five in the 8-race event.
Sarasota continued to produce the goods in terms of winter sailing weather in Florida with a third weekend of ideal conditions for the Viper Fleet, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 75 degrees both days. Saturday’s five races were sailed in a southerly breeze of 12-16 knots, while Sunday’s three races offered full planing conditions for the 20-boat fleet with gusts touching 20kts.

The Miami SCORCH Is Back!
Back by popular demand, the Miami Scorch will be sailed/eaten/drank on Wednesday, March 6. Details are being worked out with The Boater’s Grille in No Name Harbor so if you’re registered for Bacardi, look for info in the next few days. The current thinking is that crews pre-pay the Class for their lunches and drinks are on a cash basis on site.
Anyone who has ever sailed the Scorch will tell you it’s a bucket list lunch (wait, is there such a thing?).
