A great event, lots of photos and an article in the Stamford Advocate…. .

We had two days of light winds, with 4 races on Saturday and 3 races on Sunday (after a postponement ashore in the morning).  Both days were beautiful, with blue skies and temperatures in the ’70s.

Most teams stopped by to get tuning advice from Paul Young (the builder) on Friday afternoon.  It was great to see so many Vipers being “tuned” all at once.

We had a packed social hour and dinner at the Stamford Yacht Club Saturday evening. Between breakfasts, Saturday’s dinner and the awards presentation on Sunday after racing, I think everyone had a great time off the water.

Trophies were given to each skipper and each crew of the top 5 teams. (Each team was allowed one throw out race.)  Congratulations to Mike Meissner (Annapolis, MD) and his crew for winning the regatta. Harvey Barnes (Ottawa, Canada) and his crew took second place, which had to be determined by two tie breakers. Paul Zimmerman (Marblehead, MA) and his crew were third, only one point out of second place. Jonathan Nye and Jim Shaughnessy (both from Greenwich, CT) took fourth and fifth places respectively.

The Dinghy Locker/Landfall Navigation donated three Gill jackets as additional awards, in addition to having their supply trailer on site all weekend. Gary Umberger (from Atlanta, GA) was presented with one of the jackets for furthest traveled boat! Sean Kayser (from Ottawa, Canada) was awarded a jacket for most helpful crew! (He is 10 years old; we need to keep an eye on him in coming years!) Bart Rapaport/Paul Gagne (from Stamford Yacht Club) was awarded a jacket for having the most junior sailors onboard.

Photoboat has posted many great photos on their website, please check them out.

Even Fame and Publicity!
