Mark your calendars for September 30 to October 4, 2026, when the Viper 640 Class heads to Pensacola Yacht Club for the 2026 North American Championship.

This is the biggest event on the class calendar, and Pensacola Bay is set up to deliver exactly what we want in a championship venue:

This is the week when the whole Viper fleet comes together. Old friends reconnect, new teams get welcomed in, rivalries pick back up on the water, and the stories get better every night ashore.

Just ask anyone who made the trip to the last North Americans on the Panhandle!

Pensacola Beach and Gulf Islands National Seashore

Then: Store your boat and roll straight into the Sarasota Winter Series
Winter Series 1: Jan 9-10
Winter Series 2: Feb 6-7
Winter Series 3: Mar 13-14

Pensacola YC is making logistics easy and the boat storage plan is in progress and more information will be released soon for those wanting to store until January.

Want a tune-up first?

The weekend before North Americans, Fairhope Yacht Club, about an hour from Pensacola, hosts the Wadewitz Regatta, which typically draws 10+ Vipers. It’s a great way to shake off the rust before the NAs.

Better starts & more racing with RaceSense

We’ll be using Vakaros RaceSense technology again this year to help run North Americans.

That means cleaner starts, fewer general recalls, faster restarts for boats that are over early, and better starting information across the full line. RaceSense also gives teams useful post-race data to review starts, tactics, and decision-making. Atlas 2 units will be available to rent.
