SMWYC and SlBYC invite you to sail this premiere 30-mile, down-the-coast

 race from Marina del Rey to Seal Beach at Alamitos Harbor.

 

Notice of Race

RULES:  The race will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

CLASSES:  PHRF, SPRIT, PHRF, SPORT BOAT, DOUBLE HANDED, ONE DESIGN. and CRUISER

  1. Classes will be established by a minimum of 4 entries prior to 2000 hours Wednesday, September 2nd. Boats in a class that does not have 4 entries may be assigned to another appropriate class. 2. The SPRIT CLASS will consist of PHRF boats that have a fixed or adjustable bowsprit greater than 5% of its LOA. 3. The SPORT BOAT Class will consist of PHRF boats with a performance factor of 3.25 or higher. 4. PHRF Category 4 applies. Maximum PHRF entry rating is 198.

 ENTRY:  Enter the race on Regatta Network.  All entries shall be current members of their class and an SCYA yacht club. SMWYC must receive your race entry by 2100 hours Wednesday, September 2nd. Add the addendum for Slip requests to the Outlaw Regatta entry when received.

ENTRY FEE:  $40.00 – US Sailing Member $35.00.  Late entries with Race Chair approval and a $15.00 late fee after the entry deadline.

SCHEDULE:               1.  Skipper’s Meeting at SMWYC 0930 hours Saturday, September 5th.

  1. First Warning at 1125 hours.
  2. Time Limit 1900 hours.
  3. Dinner at Seal Beach YC Saturday after the race.
  4. Trophy Presentation at Seal Beach YC.

RATINGS:  PHRF Base Off Wind Course (OWC) rating will apply.  Cruisers, fill out the ASMBYC Cruiser Handicap offsets form available at asmbyc.org and use the total for your entry rating.  Forward a copy of the completed ASMBYC form to race@.smwyc.org.  Current ORCA ratings will apply.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:  Sailing Instructions will be available at www.smwyc.org by August 30.

 AWARDS:  Trophies will be awarded in each class.  In addition, special trophies for best costume and best pirate crew will be presented.

 DOCKING:  SMWYC and SlBYC expect to provide slips as requested by entries despite marina dock reconstruction in both harbors.  A Slip Request form with specifics will be posted by August 14, 2015h.
