RULES This event will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing. The prescriptions of USSA and the event Sailing Instructions shall apply. RRS Rule 82 will not apply to this event.
ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted at KHYC from 0900 until 1030 on race day. The entry fee is $25.00. Cal 20s, One Design Multihulls, Martin 242s, Vipers and other one design classes are invited; at least three entries will constitute a class. One Design entries must fulfill the eligibility requirements of their class.
VENUE: The race area will be off of Torrance Beach south of KHYC. Sailing Instructions and the Course Chart will be available at the Registration Desk on Race Day.
SCHEDULE OF RACES: Three races are planned with courses chosen from the event course chart. For all classes, one completed race will constitute a series. The first warning will be at 1155. Subsequent class starts are at 5 minute intervals. Class flags and the order of start for the first race will be posted at KHYC on race day. Subsequent races will be started at the discretion of the race committee.
STARTS: The start line will be between a flag on the port side of the RC boat and a flag, in the water, off the port side of the RC boat
FINISH: The finish line will be between a flag on the starboard side of the RC boat and a flag, in the water, off the starboard side of the RC boat..
PENALTY SYSTEM: Rule 44.1 is changed so that the two turn penalty is replaced by the one turn penalty. Rule 44.3 will not apply.
SCORING: The Low Point scoring system of RRS Appendix A.4 will apply as a single race event. There will be no throwouts.
TROPHIES: Individual trophies will be awarded at KHYC following the race.
FACILITIES: All participants are welcome in the Club before and after the race. Post race hors d’oeuvres will be served. Participating boats are welcome to use the KHYC overnight guest dock and hoist facilities. Call the KHYC Office for inquiries concerning the Guest Dock.
