Great laid back racing on the water with some other wicked cool boats, like Moths, International Canoes and more!

Greetings 2008 Heineken High Performance Dinghy Participant!

Planning and registrations for the 2009 Heineken HPDO are well underway and we want to personally extend to you the invitation to return and enjoy the fun again this year.

Registration and NOR are available online this year at
http://www.yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=276

Online registration was one of the requests we heard loud and clear from last year's event. From there you can also see who has already signed up, too, and notice we have our first international entry for this year. A Fireball from Dunrobin, Ontario. The AYC Race Committee also heard the comments and are more than ready for you all this year.

We had such a spectacular turnout last year (82 boats) and we're hoping to increase the numbers this year to a target of over 100 boats.  In addition to last year's turnout of 5o5s, A-Cats, Contenders, Flying Dutchmen, Fireballs, Foiling Moths, I-14s, International Canoes, K-6s, Tempest, and Viper 640s we have added F-18s, Swift Solos and Musto Skiffs into the mix this year.

With such an impressive list of participating classes, we can honestly say we have the hottest collection of performance dinghies in North America gathering annually at American Yacht Club in Rye, NY every Columbus Day weekend.  This year that's October 10 & 11.

Mark your calendar, and click on the link above to register now and encourage all your fleet/class members to join this awesome gathereing of high performance sailors.

Description

Much has changed in the 120 years since "robber baron", Jay Gould and a group of his friends founded the American Yacht Club in New York City. By 1887, clearly in need of a shore station, the club purchased "12 acres and some rocks known as Scotch Caps" from the Wainwright family at the tip of Milton Point in Rye, NY. The price was $6000 for what has become one of the outstanding locations on Long Island Sound.
