We have two opportunities to sail the weekend before the Viper NAs.

First: SYC has One Design Trophy Series racing scheduled for 9/12. Harbor start is at 12 noon, races start around 1300 to the west of the Stamford Lighthouse. We already have a couple few out of town boats joining us so we should have a good turnout. This is a good chance to practice for the NAs.

Second: SYC host the Stamford Denmark Friendship Race on 9/13 (a yearly big boat event that ends with a fun party on SYC’s lawn with Danish beer,Aquavit and Danish Cheese). That event’s organizing committee has offered us a Viper one design start (likely on what they call the short course which isaround government marks, SIs will be posted soon) if we have 5+ boats interested in racing. We would be racing with 50-100 big boats on Long Island Sound.  (If we race, we will have to register for this event online.)

SYC and IHYC has offered the first 8-10 boats that want to join us for one or both of these events free storage so boats can stay the week prior to the NAs.

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in racing in one or both of these events (and to keep your boat locally between this weekend and the NAs).
